Considering the importance of biodiversity of medicinal plants and to maintain the sustainability for future generations, the company has taken up a successful initiative over the last 10 years by undertaking and promoting large scale commercial cultivation of medicinal plants globally.

Sami initiated almost a decade ago, medicinal plant cultivation with a handful of farmers. Over the years this effort has translated into a large scale cultivation model involving thousands of acres and supporting large number of farmers.

Sami supports its farmers with a buy back guarantee, crop insurance, bank finance and ensures they receive a reasonable price for the produce avoiding intermediaries.

Today, this successful model is being replicated in Africa and South East Asia.
