Uttaranchal CM inaugurates Pharma City

A 'Pharma City' being developed by the State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttaranchal Ltd (Sidcul) and entailing an investment of Rs 175 crore was today inaugurated by Uttaranchal Chief Minister N D Tiwari about 50 km from here.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Tiwari said it would provide employment and give an impetus to the overall development of the state. Spread over 50 acres at industrial estate selaqui, 40 plots have already been alloted to 36 pharma companies. On an average, the companies would be investing upward of Rs 3 crore, officials said.
 
Hyderabad-based Natco Pharma Ltd is the largest investor with an investment of Rs 10 crore. India Glycols Ltd, also a major investor, is putting in Rs 7-8 crore.
 
The companies allotted land include Sami Labs Limited, Lactose (India) Ltd, Household Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Abco India, Stepan Laboratories Pvt Ltd, India Glycols Ltd and Premier Nutraceuticals Pvt Ltd.
